Our approach
Six principles guide everything we make. Each one shapes how our tools look, read and work.
Using AI the right way
What it means in practice.
💡 Support understanding
Use AI to explain, offer examples and guide practice while children develop their own thinking.
🧩 Make participation easier
Adapt the presentation, language and structure of materials to support different needs.
🤝 Keep adults involved
Parents and educators guide the experience and review AI-generated material.
🔍 Encourage critical thinking
Teach children to question answers, check information and recognise that AI can make mistakes.
🔒 Protect privacy
Be thoughtful about the information and learning materials shared with AI tools.
⏳ Save time with a purpose
Reduce repetitive preparation so there is more time for discussion, study, play, projects and creative work.
The purpose behind the colour 🎨
Our approach draws on research-informed principles such as organising information into manageable sections, signalling key ideas and giving readers control over presentation. Colour and playful details offer another way to engage with material.
Preferences differ, so choice matters. We do not promise faster learning or the same results for everyone. AI-generated material should be checked against the original source.
Our six pillars
“AI does the heavy lifting. Children do the thinking.”
In our apps: AI prepares the materials, so children can spend their time understanding, practising and asking questions.
We never let AI replace a child’s own thinking, and we never collect more data than we need.
“Every brain, every budget, every language.”
In our apps: clear for every learner, a free or low-cost way in, and it works on a phone and on paper.
We never offer one-size-fits-all.
“Independent learners steer their own learning.”
In our apps: children track their own progress, use flipped-classroom tools and set small goals.
We never do it for them.
“Mistakes are where learning starts.”
In our apps: project-based learning, “Not yet” instead of “wrong”, and no penalty for a brave guess.
We never punish mistakes.
“Ask ‘How do you know?’, even to AI.”
In our apps: questions that make children think, checking AI against real sources, and claims backed by research.
We never teach children to trust AI blindly.
“Children thrive with kind words and the people around them.”
In our apps: a kind tone, short sessions and real breaks, built for children, parents and teachers together.
We never design apps to keep children hooked.
